The latest pack in the long term PUMA x UNDFTD Collection has finally arrived. The Nylon Ripstop Clydes (NRC’s) take design cues from the military and incorporate a high quality Nylon Ripstop material into the PUMA Clyde. Developed for the production of parachutes during World War II, Ripstop is made for strength and is resistant to tearing and ripping, making the NRC’s in it for the long-haul.
The PUMA x UNDFTD Collection is about bringing a simplistic and classic aesthetic with a twist to PUMA’s most iconic shoe, The Clyde. These new editions embody this with clean lines and four wearable colors for fall. The shoes will be available beginning Saturday, September 10th at retailers across the country and for one week only at select Foot Action locations. For store locations and additional info go to puma.com/clyde
For a little more insight into the NRC’s, we caught up with Eddie Cruz of UNDFTD for some details about the latest designs.
Q. Can you tell us about the design inspiration behind the latest drop in the
PUMA x UNDFTD collaboration?
A. Military gear has been seeing a revival for the past couple of seasons; we wanted to build on this and looked to military inspired fabrics to transform the Clyde. The NRC’s are made from a high-quality Ripstop material.
Q. What design challenges did you run into with the NRC’s?
A. It actually went pretty smooth. The first samples came out a little shiny, but were corrected by using a matted Nylon Ripstop instead. We are very happy with the end results. I think our mission was accomplished with this Clyde. It's simple, wearable and it has a twist
Q. How do you feel this drop compares to the first two releases in the PUMA x UNDFTD Collection - The Stripe-Off Clydes and The Cali Canvas Clydes?
A. There's no comparison at all. Since it's a collection, we wanted to make sure we did something different for every drop, while still keeping it cohesive, especially since we're only working with one style - The Clyde.
Q. How do you feel these Clydes fit into other fall trends you are seeing in the marketplace?
A. Aside from the pearl white, we went with darker colors that fit right in. Olive, Navy and Black. Most importantly, people love breaking out their technical jackets in the fall. This Clyde is definitely complimented by a nice technical waterproof jacket.

Will this be available at Titan Fort or this will be exclusive at ronac on the 17th?
Butter! I wonder if they have matching track suits? Sport em' with super fat laces, Dookie rope chain, Cazal 607's, and a Kangol Bucket hat. Then mobb over to the ROXY, form a circle, bust the up rock, to the air flair, to the 1990 and land it on a bridge. Finish it off with the B-Boy stance and scream RAMON!!!LOL.
