Earlier this week, I received an invitation from Nike Philippines' new PR agency to the Kobe 9 media day. I haven't been to the Nike Philippines HQ all year (believe or not) so I said yes even though I knew my Thursday would be hectic as hell.

Hi All!
This might be a bit long but I hope you can read through until the end
In the months following Ondoy in 2009, I started a "shoebox gift" drive for the Holidays, so that the survivors of the typhoon could receive more essentials PLUS something special for Christmas. The whole concept is to fit some essential items into a shoebox (I'm sure we all have a lot!) and add a special present in the form of a book, coloring book and crayons, a new shirt, face wash or whatever else would seem like a "treat" amidst all the relief items.
My partner in crime in The Powder Room, Margaux and I would like to do this again this year, to bring some Christmas cheer to survivors of Yolanda. It will be a month long collection so there's plenty of time to make your boxes and spread the word and if possible, please fill with the following:
face towel, tooth brush/toothpaste, flipflops, soap, canned good, candle, matches, a bottle of water and one "special item"
If possible, please personalize your box with a ribbon, gift wrapper and a handwritten note. Please also specify if it's for a child or a man or woman.
If you can pledge at least one box, that would be amazing, but if you can do more, even better! We'd like to encourage you to spread the word to your friends and family and even workmates. If you work for a company, maybe you can talk to HR and ask them to ask each employee to create just one box. This is a great way to get your kids involved too!
We'll be coming out with a flyer/poster for online use as well as a page on FB very soon, but if you can already tell people to tell people, then we can get this party started!
There will be 4 drop off points (Katipunan, Pioneer, Makati and Sucat) Details to follow later on this week

I first got into Chinese zodiac "Year of the..." sneakers back in 2002 when I saw a clean pair of classic sneakers done in a simple white/samba colorway with the Chinese symbol for horse (馬) on the tongue. It was a limited edition "Year of the Horse" release that went under the radar for most of the year but was a must for me since I was born in 1978. Chinese zodiac sneakers became a trend after that and other sneaker brands picked up on it releasing their own version every year.
The Chinese zodiac is a 12 year cycle which means that in a few months it will be Year of the Horse again and I can't even tell you how stoked I am for this pack to be released. My year, one my favorite kicks, done in my all-time fav colorway. Presenting the Puma "Year of the Horse" collection! In select Puma stores starting January 1. (global release date)

Out of all of Michael Jordan's most iconic on-court photos, the story behind the one below has to be the least told. On September 9, 1994, Michael Jordan, while being in his first retirement, dropped 52 points during a charity basketball game at Chicago Stadium beating Scottie Pippen's team 187-150. What's so significant about this "kiss?" It was MJ's farewell to Chicago Stadium, a place where he called home for 9 NBA seasons winning 3 straight championships, as this was the final event before it was demolished the following year. Nifty story, eh? You all know that each great MJ tale is always accompanied by a classic pair of Air Jordans. Check out what's on his feet.
