True story. Ze wife (Moderna vaccinated) caught Covid-19 early last month and was sick as a dog for at least a week. Fever + easily fatigued + cough + colds + loss of taste/smell. The last time I saw her like that was when she caught dengue fever in the Philippines 7 years ago.
I've been tested twice since and both results came out negative for the virus. Today I got my booster shot. Hopefully, it'll help me miss every new variant release of Covid-19. Same way I missed every release through @copdate this year even after Triple Boosting every entry.
Get vaccinated, get boosted. It's the only way we're going to beat and end this pandemic. Save your beliefs/cries/freedom/research for something else. I swear to your God this shit ain't no joke.

I eat more sandwiches than I eat rice, which is unusual for a Filipino, so I never hesitate to try out new ones especially if I'm already in the area. I didn't know about this spot Ballard until ze wife asked me to pick up an oyster po'boy sandwich for her.

We're 2 years into this pandemic and no matter how careful you are, there will still be irresponsible and selfish idiots out there who will get you or your loved one/s sick. So, yeah. This was me yesterday, sticking a swab in my nostrils and twirling it 10 times. Thank God they don't shove it high anymore like how they do in many places still.
Got to the drive-thru testing site 5 minutes away from the apartment just in time for the last 4:40pm appointment.

Wildest hit on SNKRS to date. I napped right before 9 am not thinking anything would drop on the morning of October 28. Woke up not long after that and didn't check my phone until past 11 am, more than 2 hours after this crazy and surprising Exclusive Access release on the app. I shook my head in disappointment when I saw the notification knowing I had missed maybe the biggest Nike SB shoe of the year. To my surprise, there were sizes available still so I checked out as fast as I could.
I got the confirmation within minutes and for the next several days, I had to play the waiting game and prayed that FedEx wouldn't test me. There have been numerous reports of the Off-White Dunks missing while in transit so I was kinda nervous about not getting my pair especially after my package went through 2 different "delays."

I first saw these on END and SNS early this year but with a price tag of $160, I had to pass and wait for them to go on sale. Fast forward to last week, an adidas.com ad popped up on my social media feed featuring the same shoes and to my surprise, they only retailed for $120. I pulled the trigger right away when I saw not many sizes were available and only 1 size US10.5 was left. (They run small, hence the size bump.)
I was able to use a 30% discount that I've had since June and paired it with a Rakuten 10% cashback. Patience does truly pay off, eh?

Former Philippine actress turned fitness guru and @wendellvans' homegirl Michelle Madrigal is in town for the weekend. As soon as I saw her post a bowl of wonton soup yesterday lunch time, I hit up Wendell to ask Michelle where the spot was. I tried asking her myself but she doesn't follow me on IG and she probably doesn't remember me even though we all partied together in Manila many moons ago, lol. Thankfully, she replied with the quickness so off to International District/Chinatown we go!
Such an odd way to hit. I didn't even want them at first but I for some odd reason I was up at 3 am so I was like alright I might as well stay up until 4 am and try for a pair. When it was go time I was able to quickly add my size to my cart but everything kept freezing and timing out during the checkout process. Weird but I never got the queue window like how most of you did. Shop Pay was tripping so I checked out as guest but then made the mistake of auto-filling my shipping details. I used my card but with ze wife's billing address. Surprisingly, after a 20 minutes of trying, the transaction went through!
The shipping label was created the next day but 4 days had lapsed before my order was shipped out. Surprisingly, it only took 2 days to go from the Netherlands to Germany to Seattle to my doorstep!
This came in the mail yesterday just in time for game of 2 of the NLDS between my San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers (BOOOOO!). It was part of HatClub.com's exclusive New Era 59FIFTY All-Star Game Decades Collection that dropped on October 5.
I just had to pick up this hat because I was there outside AT&T Park for the All-Star Game in 2007, the same year when I became a fan after taking my eldest son to see his first MLB game a few months prior. It was also the same season when Barry Bonds set the record for most career home runs.
I'm just not sure if I'll ever be okay with paying $50 for a fitted hat, though.

First live musical experience since the start of the pandemic! Yikes? Nah, the people behind Candlelight Seattle did a great job at setting up Block 41 and making sure every single person inside the venue had a mask on.

They came out last year and sold out quickly but I found them below retail on The-House.com. Only $50 each shipped + tax with the code XMAS15. I also used Rakuten to get 4.5% cashback and got another $15 discount when I paid using PayPal in buying 2 pairs. (Or any purchase over $100)

Yeah, sex is cool but have you ever passed through Portland from Seattle going to Camas, posted an IG story asking, "Who's in the area?" and got a reply from an old friend from Nike saying, "The Darkside Initiative is open on East Burnside."
Never? I figured.
I checked their website/blog/social media and there was no mention of the store opening today. I guess I was the first one to break the news on instagram/facebook? They must have wanted a really low key first day.

How do I remove scuffs from calf skin leather? These made in Italy navy Johnston & Murphy Casteel Plain Toe Derby were delivered like this "brand new." They were 73% off HERE but still, though.

New decade, new winning pattern for my San Francisco Giants? I hope I don't jinx it but they have been playing really great baseball. Not a lot of people including myself expected a season like this. I guess a year off did Buster Posey's mind and body good plus Brandon Crawford is surprisingly batting well. Let's not forget the resurgence of Brandon Belt and Evan Longoria!
It's gonna be a tight race for the NL West crown but I got a feeling the *2020 World Series Champs won't go far this year. #BeatLA

North Seattle has a lot of restaurants worth checking out. You just gotta know where to look. One of them is Don Lucho's Restaurant & Pisco Bar, a short 10 minute drive from downtown Seattle. Definitely worth the trip if you love Peruvian food!
Back here again at Citizen Cafe because where else can you spend a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon in Seattle with a nice set up like this? They got hiphop/R&B DJs, cold drinks and you can bring your own food!

Still recovering from my surgery less than 2 weeks ago, we made our way to Queen Anne to try this chicken joint called Sisters and Brothers. They serve Southern-inspired friend chicken and sides with al fresco dining.
After not hitting anything for 141 days, I got an email from BAIT congratulating me on winning the raffle for the Nike Dunk High "FRAGMENT," my 3rd hit in 16 days. I was behind the wheel in Portland driving back up to Seattle when I got the notification. I was so surprised and bewildered by my new found sneaker luck that I failed to test it by turning around and buying a lotto ticket, lol.
Wifey and I were in Astoria, OR last Wednesday when she randomly started talking about the Air Jordan 3 A Ma Maniére 5 minutes away from our destination. I didn't know she was granted Early Access to the shoes on SNKRS up until I pulled my phone out when we got to Astoria Coffee House & Bistro. (I use both our accounts every time to raise my batting average of .000) To my surprise, there were still good sizes available and got the shock of my sneaker life when I saw "Got 'Em" within seconds of checking out.
So yeah, it was my first SNKRS hit EVER and it was an Early Access! I'd be surprised if I get lucky again this year. 😂

141 days since my last hit. It's crazy how difficult it has been to buy something I am willing to pay for at retail. How did it get to this point? Are old school sneakerheads partly to blame? Am I? Nevertheless, I'm glad stores like UNDFTD are out there making it a tad bit easier for you and me to secure some highly coveted pairs.
