Back in Pioneer Square again. This time, to snap photos of the newly-remodeled 119-year old King Street Station. What a beaut!

TRESSER THE CREATOR

I passed up on the Nike Zoom Spiridon the last time the OG colorway was retroed so I just had to pick up a pair of the latest release when it dropped last week. Some of you already know that this particular shoe (and colorway) is one of my all-time fav 90's runners along with the volt Talarias. My sizes sold out quickly but thankfully, DSMNY still had my size. No tax + free shipping = WIN.

My first pair since the 2005 retro I bought in Hong Kong. I'm so stoked!

What did you buy for yourself for Christmas?

It's Christmas Eve, let's take a stroll around Pioneer Square and search for more holiday cheer.

NORTHWEST GLOW

You know how in some places, like where I'm originally from, it's almost impossible to escape the holidays? Even if you cover your eyes and ears, you will still get flooded with Christmas decors and jingles as early as July. No kidding! (Ask any Filipino from the Philippines.)

That is not the case here in Seattle. You really gotta go out of your way and seek that holiday cheer. Thankfully, the Olympic Manor is not far from where we live!

BRING 'EM BACK

Struck out on the local release/restock at 35th North/By and By a couple of weeks ago so I ended up ordering my size from Skatepark of Tampa! Man, SPoT was THE site to buy Nike SB's from ages ago. I really didn't want to buy my pair from SNKRS and wanted to support a skateshop. I just didn't expect that my pair would come from all the way across the country. Lol.

WALK AROUND

0

| Posted in | Posted on Tuesday, November 05, 2024

It's finally here! Been itching to acquire a walkabout lens ever since I got one for ze wife a couple of months ago to replace her Fujifilm XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ kit lens. Initially, I was gonna go with the same lens as hers, a used Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS one from eBay. To my surprise, I saw a bunch of Fujifilm lenses on sale last week from official authorized dealers like B&H, Adorama, Amazon, Best Buy, etc. One of the lenses on sale was the newly-released Fujifilm XF 16-50mm f/2.8-4.8 R LM WR with a huge $200 discount.

I ended up ordering one through Macys.com from Focus Camera to avail of the 8% cashback! Delivery took longer than expected because they sent it using USPS Ground Advantage instead of the faster 2-3 days service. :/

I can't wait to take this one for a spin!

The only NFL game I look forward to watching live in this city every season. I love how Thursday Night Football this year between my San Francisco 49ers and ze wife's Seattle Seahawks was earlier than the usual freezing December schedule! (It was on Thanksgiving Day last year.)

Different year, same pose.

I sacrificed 1.5 hours of my sanity so you don't have to. LOL. Here's Andre 3000's ENTIRE audio performance at The Paramount Theatre in Seattle. Enjoy!

You diggin' this version of Andre 3000 or nah?

Unexpected hit from a local spot I always support. LFG 35th North!!!

THE REDDIT RUSE

I gotta stop going on reddit and believing every single comment about a certain restaurant being "the best" in the state. Went to Wilkeson after the M's game today, which is about 1 hour southeast of Seattle, to try The Carlson Block. This spot supposedly serves the best wood-fired pizza in Washington.

It's always appreciated when local businesses go the extra mile in making their communities become better, even when they really don't have to. Just take a look at what Darkalinos/H.O.M.E.T.E.A.M. have been doing all year long, capping the beautiful Seattle summer with a free live performance last night by Tuxedo!!!

BLOT FOREVER

| Posted in | Posted on Saturday, September 07, 2024

It was exactly a week ago, on the morning of my birthday, when I found out that you have moved on to be in a better place. I don't remember the last time I cried like that, and I haven't been the same since. I've lost dear pets in the past, but nothing has ever been this hard. I can't even get myself to work on this post without breaking into tears.

You gave me 8 of your 9 lives. That's the only logical explanation of how I survived my last 10 years in Manila. I would have given some back just to see you again if I hadn't used them all up. I'll never forgive myself for not being there with you for the last four years.

I'll miss everything about you, Blot. We hanging out all day and night for eternity next time we meet. I'll have the fried chicken and bacon ready.

Until then.

Visited Vancouver 3 times the last 16 months and out of all the restaurants that ze wife and I went to, The Lunch Lady gotta be the best one, hands down. Each dish was phenomenal and the service was top-notch (shout out to Nick!). Got comped a dessert for my birthday, and it was oh so yummy. Thank you! We can't wait to go back!

I thought last year's Skate to the Plate crossover between the Seattle Mariners and 35th North was the coolest thing ever until my San Francisco Giants did THIS (shout out to Jason for the sick photos!!!!) back in May. Nevertheless, another Skate to the Plate for this season is just as appreciated. How many ballparks got a half pipe ramp inside where skaters get to showcase their talents, even for just a day?!

LONG LENS

0

| Posted in | Posted on Sunday, August 04, 2024

Not the best location to watch the annual Seafair but you can't go wrong with the Seattle skyline. Also, not the best telephoto lens (XC50-230) to snap photos with since the images come out soft and not as sharp when zoomed all the way in. I promise to rent a better and longer lens for next year's event! For now, allow me to flood your screen with a bunch of photos from today. Enjoy!

It's the first day of Seattle World's Vintage Fair at the Seattle Center! Hyped to see what the vendors have to offer. Since the doors didn't open until 5pm, ze wife and I killed some time by snapping some photos around the venue. Team Fujifilm represent!

It's been a tiring but fun weekend and there's one more thing on the agenda... It's the Capitol Hill Block Party!!! One of the few annual events in Seattle that I always look forward too even though I never know most of the artists in the line-up, lol.

It's not often that you can drag me into a vintage shop because I've often found myself disappointed in seeing stuff nobody really wants but I got curious when I randomly saw this sign while walking the streets of Astoria, Oregon yesterday.

PHINNEY FAUX PAS

Ze wife wanted to check out one of Greenwood's newest additions in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood. It's called Sophon, a family-owned Cambodian restaurant. Greenwood Ave N got a bunch of really good spots along the whole stretch so I was sorta hyped to try this one. You can read my review HERE or you can check it out after the jump.

Wanting to see more of the northern lights and since it was part of last night's forecast, ze wife and I drove down to the Seattle Ferry Terminal and hopped on the 8:45pm ferry to Bainbridge Island. The plan was to watch and enjoy the "lightshow" when we catch one of the last ferry rides back to the city.

Guess who was up until 6:30 this morning sorting and deleting HUNDREDS of sucky photos from last night's northern lights? This after a tiring night with ze wife as we joined hundreds of people at Mukilteo Beach in staring at the skies for hours. Still, it was such a fun and memorable (once in a lifetime?) event!

UGH, I really thought this movie was gonna blow me away. It didn't suck but it just wasn't what I expected after seeing the trailer a few times. Check it out if you have an unlimited movie pass but it's not worth the standard admission fee, IMHO. Really good terrifying scene with Jesse Plemons, though!

Found myself frolicking once again around the University of Washington for the third time in 10 days. I went to the CHL building for an appointment and thought it would be nice to pass through the quad to snap photos of the cherry blossoms before all the trees lose their flowers.

I guess I'm back after years of not updating my blog? LOL. I'll try my best to fill the backlog from here on out.

SNKRS hit yesterday, delivered today. Delivery time used to take at least a week but after I hit on the draw, I was asked to answer a quick survey and one of the things that I complained about was the slow method of delivery. Within hours, I received a FedEx notification for an Overnight Priority package. I guess Nike does listen.

Been on a roll recently hitting back-to-back CCS "raffles." This time, a pair of Dunks inspired by one of the best female skaters out there right now. I just wish they'd stop charging CCS+ members a $15 shipping fee when their warehouse is only 2 hours away from Seattle! (One of CCS+'s perks is free shipping but raffle winners gotta pay regardless? Mmmmkay.)
